The Feast

The “Festa del Covo” is a thanksgiving feast dedicated to the prodigious icon of Our Lady of Sorrows which is venerated in the Sanctuary of Campocavallo. It always falls on the first Sunday of August, the day on which the Covo is finally unveiled and paraded through the streets of the town. But celebrations start already from the first days of the week, usually on the previous Wednesday, with evening events and shows specially chosen so that people can immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere of popular tradition and peasant life from which the feast itself originates.
